KITS - Authentic scale models by Billing Boats, Revell and Dragon

In April 1789 the British armed trading frigate HMS BOUNTY under the command of William Bligh and loaded with a cargo of breadfruit was sailing some 1300 miles west of Tahiti near Tonga when mutiny broke out. Led by the Executive Officer, Fletcher Christian the ship was taken bloodlessly with little resistence, except from Bligh himself. Captain Bligh and 17 loyal crew members were set adrift in an open lifeboat. The rest is history.

This historic Viking ship "OSEBERG" was discovered in Norway in 1903 covered by turf and stones and resting on a bed of clay. The Oseberg was originally built in the late 800's AD and was buried about 50 years later. Viking ships would have been quite unstable and dangerous when under sail in rough seas.

This fishing boat was built in 1930 at the Nybork shipyard in Denmark. Originally named "Sjostijornan", the boat was eventually sold to Iceland in 1950 and re-named "ARNANES".
