The Tamiya TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 40 is an authentic 1/10th scale radio controlled model of the famous go-anywhere off-road all-terrain 4WD vehicle. The tough heavy duty polycarbonate CR-01 rock crawler chassis features 4-link coil spring suspension to conquer the most difficult terrain that you might like to dish up !
Tamiya CR-01 Chassis Design
The Tamiya CR-01 rock crawler chassis features a heavy duty ladder type frame with strong but light weight aluminium cross members. The compact planetary gearbox occupies minimal space which allows the type RS540 electric motor and battery to be positioned well down in the chassis for the low centre of gravity necessary for off-road rock crawling and climbing steep terrain.
Planetary Gearbox
The planetary gearbox included in the kit has a 20T pinion gear for a 40.5:1 gear ratio.
There are 16T and 25T pinion gears available separately for gear ratios from 50.6:1 to 32.4:1.
Coil Suspension, Wheels and Tyres
The 4-link coil spring suspension is capable of an extremely broad range of movement and high ground clearance as it travels across rugged terrain. Inboard dampers connect to the suspension via linkages which is then connected to a stabilizer torsion bar for sure-footed balance.
The 3 piece beadlock wheels are fitted with massive rock crawler tyres measuring 125 mm in diameter and 56 mm wide. The tyres feature inner sponges and tread pattern on the sidewalls for maximum traction.
